At Waggy Tails we will help you how to understand your dog better and hopefully form a better relationship with your dog.  We begin training by using tit-bits and toys as lures and rewards.  If you disagree with the use of tit-bits we probably are not the club for you, however having said that why not pay us a visit, you may be surprised!  We will show you how to use your voice and reward your dog correctly.

Puppy Courses:
All puppies under the age of six months are welcome.
The puppy courses cover:

How to examine your puppy all over without objection.
One of the most important commands you will ever teach your dog.
How to walk nicely on a lead.
How teach your puppy to respond instantly.
How to teach your puppy to come when called.
To respond to it’s name.
To relax and settle down and not be a nuisance.
How to stop your puppy mouthing your hands and clothes.
How to teach your puppy to play and not steal and chase!
These are just some of the exercises covered on the course.

Puppy classes are approximately one hour long, although this may be shortened if it is deemed by the instructor that the puppies have had enough for that session.  Discussions take place within the class with handlers sitting on chairs with your puppy relaxing beside you. Your puppy will only be working part of the hour; this will depend on age, breed and attention span!

Puppy c
ourses times are:
Thursday 18.15 pm ~ Saturday 9.30 am.

The next puppy course dates will be announced next week.

On the first and third Saturday of each month we run a playgroup, playgroups are for all dogs that attend Waggy Tails courses (Click here to see what goes on at our Dog Playgroups). Please see the notice board for times the playgroups will be held.

The cost of the 6 week puppy course is £30.00 (Membership required)
If your puppy joined when it was very young it will probably attend 2 puppy courses before moving on to the next level, this will be discussed and decided jointly with handler and instructor.
Waggy Tails encourages puppy owners to take part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Scheme which hopefully will earn you and your puppy a rosette and certificate. This is part.
